It is with great pride that we announce today that we have completed a 10-month project for the Parish of Christ Church for the design-build renovation of an original HH Richardson designed building located on Central Street in the historical section of Andover, Massachusetts.

The project consisted of designing and building the nave balcony to accept a new Opus 137 organ, that was manufactured by C.B. Fisk Company of Gloucester, along with major floor and ceiling acoustical improvements and HVAC requirements needed to support the new organ.

Channel performed work on liturgical interior finishes of all areas including the chancel, which has been expanded and renovated to allow for a more open and spacious area. Hand-forged wrought iron railings and detailed millwork were all completed to meet the original design characteristics of the space. Additional renovation work performed on this structure dating back to the late 1800’s, included a new sound system, enhanced lighting and major structural enhancements to access the balcony.

According to Chris Huntress and Tom Childs of the church’s building committee, Channel Building Company brought the experience and project commitment to the parishioners as well as the community, having completed numerous projects in the Andover area. These projects include the South Church renovation, Musgrove Building, Bank of New England, Barnard Building, Andover Town Offices, One Main Street and many others.
