Channel Building Company to Renovate Smith Motor Sales of Haverhill

Innovative Autohaus design focuses on the customer experience

Wilmington, MA– April 30, 2010 –  Channel Building Company, a leading design-build commercial construction company, today announced that they have entered into an agreement with Smith Motor Sales of Haverhill for the renovation of their dealership located at 420 River Street in Haverhill, MA.

The Mercedes-Benz ‘Autohaus’ initiative is a global effort to align all the dealerships in their design. The primary features include a sense of welcome, familiarity, transparency, openness, unencumbered product representation and customer convenience.

Improvements to the original 18,000 square foot building that was built by Channel Building Company in 1998 will consist of a 1,300 square foot showroom addition to the existing 2,750 square feet. The showroom elevation of the building will receive 250% more glass along with a continuous 10’ structural steel thin-edge roof element and eleven signature Autohaus columns which will be finished to Mercedes-Benz specifications. The space to be renovated will include upgrading the customer lounge, service administration area and finishes in the repair shop. From the thin-edge roof element to the porcelain tiled showroom, this new renovation by Channel Building Company has been designed to meet the needs of Smith Motor Sales customers and improve their buying experience.

Work has already commenced and will be completed on or around September 1, 2010.
