Project Description

Location: Hingham, MA

The roof of this metal building in Hingham buckled under the excessive snow loads during 2015’s harsh winter.  As a Varco-Pruden metal building design-builder, Channel was quickly deployed to safeguard the building for public safety and to reduce any further damage to the structure.  Shortly thereafter, Channel’s design team was engaged to analyze the damage and deterioration by conducting a full engineering analysis of the structure and then began reconstructing this 35-year old former 5,000sf super-structure on existing foundations as well as reinforcing the existing roof purlins to adjacent spaces.  Project highlights included selective demolition, replacement and upgrades to all mechanical, plumbing, fire suppression and electrical systems and new interior offices.
